Prior to founding 621 Capital, John was the co-founder of RAM Real Estate Capital where he was responsible for identifying, managing, and exiting residential real estate joint ventures with developers across the nation.
Prior to RAM, John served as a Director of Acquisitions with Mountain Real Estate Capital where he was responsible for identifying and structuring residential joint venture deals with premier developer and builder partners across the United States. John underwrote residential deal opportunities of various size, scope and complexity, as well as overseeing all asset management activities for the entire life cycle of projects spread across the nation. He had previously founded his own homebuilding company in Charlotte and was a Division President for a regional Carolina homebuilder.
John started his homebuilding career as the head of NVR’s (Ryan Homes) Business Strategy and Finance Group for the Southeast Operations and maintains relationships with many mid-Atlantic homebuilders. Outside of the Real Estate Industry, John’s experience includes serving as the City Manager of several of Hertz Rent-A-Car’s largest national facilities and as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
John holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
ERIC LEE, Senior Portfolio Manager & PartnerPrior to starting 621 Capital, Eric spent 5 years at RAM Real Estate Capital underwriting, managing, and ultimately exiting several residential real estate joint ventures across the United States.
Additionally, Eric spent 3 years at Walton Asset Management in New York City as a Financial Analyst focused on the Washington D.C. and Texas regions. He managed several large scale, ground-up residential and mixed-use developments, and underwrote the acquisition/divestiture of several regional land holdings amounting to over $50M of institutional debt and private equity.
Prior to Walton Asset Management, Eric was an Analyst with Land & Buildings Investment Management, a Connecticut-based, long/short equity hedge fund focused on real estate and real estate related companies. There, Eric was responsible for all investments in and coverage of Retail, Industrial, Lodging, and Triple Net REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). Further, he also developed and implemented a quantitative trading strategy in addition to research-driven trading ideas.
Eric earned his B.S. in Finance and General Accounting from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and has passed Level I of the CFA Program.
ANANDA BARUAH, 621 Capital AdvisorCurrently he is a Managing Director at Loop Capital Markets where he analyzes technology companies and makes key contributions to strategy and culture creation.
He was previously Managing Director and Director of Research at Brean Capital LLC, where he served as a key member of the strategic working group responsible for developing and implementing strategy across equities and creating a culture aligning employee and ownership goals.
He has previously held positions at investment banks Merrill Lynch and Banc of America Securities, as well as consultancies Coopers & Lybrand and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has studied at The College of William & Mary, Oxford University, and the University of Pittsburgh.
